Wisdom and Knowledge

In the beginning, to me wisdom was like word from the wise. We can apply what we have aquired to our everyday lives. As for knowledge, we gain it for the sole purpose of our studies for our life-long careers. I thought they were pretty similar but in fact, far from the same. Because we gain knowledge from our studies, it's where we get it. We learn knowledge from the teachers of education. With wisdom, we gain it from the lifestyle of ourself and others. I actually believe we mostly gain knowledge form college because of the large amount of studying and assignments we have to learn and memorize. But we can gain a bit wisdom through how to live on your own with paying for your dorms, how to socialize with the right kind of people, and how you can manage time to help you in your future. Because we are all curious at the young ages of life, the information age is very helpful.

I agree with you in the fact that you think knowledge is something that we learn from our instructors and from reading textbooks. Your comment about wisdom being the words from the wise was interesting. I think that makes a good point. Since I was a child I have always looked up to my grandma and always thought she was so wise. Her lifetime of experiences has given her wisdom. I think this is an admirable quality. We can hope to gain knowledge as well as wisdom as we make our way through college. The diversity, personal, and public experiences we encounter while in college can have a strong influence on the wisdom we acquire along with the knowledge we get from our instructors and textbooks.

I like how you explained how we gain wisdom. Through college life, we can learn so much. Whether it challenging our morals (through interaction with others and in many tough situations) or being independent (having to gain experience for our career or living life on a budget). With wisdom we can gain better knowledge. With wisdom, we will be able to access and gain knowledge in a better fashion. In just a few short months living in the dorms, I have personally gained so much wisdom. If I were to look back a year ago from today, I would be so surprised to see how much I have grown. I have become so much more than I thought I could be, constantly challenging myself every day.
